How to care for your swimwear, so it lasts for years. Because good things deserve to last.

At Billie Swim, we design every piece with purpose—from the fabrics we choose to the final stitch. Our swimwear is made to move with you, season after season. But to keep your pieces looking and feeling their best, a little extra love goes a long way.
Here’s how to properly care for your Billie Swim so it stays beautiful for years to come:
1. Hand Wash in Cold Water
After a day in the sun, sea, or pool, give your swimwear a gentle rinse. Fill a sink or bowl with cold water and a mild, eco-friendly detergent. Let it soak for 5–10 minutes, then gently swirl and rinse clean.
Why? Cold water protects the elasticity of the fabric and helps preserve color—especially important for sustainable textiles and non-toxic dyes.
2. Avoid Washing Machines
It might be tempting to toss your bikini in the laundry, but resist! Washing machines are tough on delicate fabrics and can cause unnecessary wear and tear.
3. Dry in the Shade
After washing, lay your swimwear flat on a towel to air dry in the shade. Avoid wringing it out or hanging it from the straps, as that can stretch the fabric over time.
Why shade? Direct sunlight can fade colors—even in the most high-quality fabrics. Drying in the shade helps your swimwear retain its vibrancy and structure.
4. Skip the Dryer (Always)
Heat is swimwear’s enemy. Avoid tumble dryers at all costs—they’ll break down the fibers and shorten your suit’s lifespan.
5. Watch Out for Rough Surfaces
Pool edges, rocks, or even rough wood can snag or pill your bikini. Sit on a towel when you can and be mindful of where you lay your suit.
Caring Is Cool
One of the best things about choosing sustainable swimwear is knowing it’s made to last. And with a little care, your Billie Swim can stay stunning year after year—just like you.
